Some of you couldn’t stop spamming us with ‘Frinsa’ requests. So, back on dope demand: A fresh lot from the Javanese Frinsa estate. Not to be confused with the Java variety, because this coffee is a mixture of Andung Sari & Sigarar Utang. Meaning that this time, sweetness is a little more highlighted instead of last year’s mega funk. Matter fact, it will fulfill all your distinct indo profile coffee expectations (&more).

Wildan and his wife Atieq have a love affair with coffee that dates back to 2010, when they first started their coffee project in the Sindangkerta area. This passion for producing the finest coffee led to the establishment of Java Frinsa Estate, which has since become a leading producer of specialty coffee in Indonesia.

One of the key elements that sets Frinsa Estate apart from other coffee producers in the country is their focus on quality. Unlike the majority of producers who use the wet hulled method, Wildan and Atieq dedicate themselves to producing clean coffee with a unique and funky profile, which requires meticulous attention and dedication.

The couple also has a strong commitment to sustainability and community impact, and their farm is self-sufficient, with a wet mill, storage space, and dry mill all on site. This means they are in full control of their product from harvest to grading, sorting, and shipment. They also have 6 main growing plots and source cherries from selected outgrowers in the surrounding area.

Due to the wet, humid climate, most of their coffees are pre-dried in their greenhouse, a groundbreaking shift for the Indonesian market. This has resulted in more uniform drying, and therefore more consistent outcomes.

Wow, what a surprise. First sip: “It’s almost cacao…” Not cocoa, but cacao. There is a hint of licorice in it but just a hint. And something I remember from the past and can’t put my finger on. It’s a wonderful coffee. Very different from the others; it now lives in my home as a very welcome change from the regulars.
