Flavour profile

This coffee is a mix of three varieties Typica, Caturra, and Bourbon. The fertile soil, and high elevation of the mountains result in a beautifully juicy flavour notes of fresh fruit. They ferment the beans for 15 to 24 hours in cement tanks, then dry them on a shade covered patio to ensure that the drying process is even.

Look for notes of fig, red apple, and blackberry and expect a cup that’s both full bodied and refreshing.

The story – the farm

Mitad del Mundo is grown by 20 small holders around the village of Loja, Ecuador. The famers their coffee on their own farms, then bring it to a micro-mill where it is processed. This coffee originates in Mitad del Mundo, The Middle of the World. Specifically, the Loja region in the Southern hemisphere.

The high altitude, climate, unique flora and fauna, and fertile mountain soil of Loja create the perfect environment for coffee production. We’re so excited to offer you a truly unique cup from Ecuador.
