Leonardo Henao’s journey in specialty coffee is a testament to dedication and deep-rooted expertise. Despite lacking a family coffee tradition , he spent over 15 years mastering roles as a taster, quality analyst, farm manager, and fermentation process coordinator. His commitment reached a pinnacle in 2020 when a coffee under his care won the prestigious Cup of Excellence title.

In 2024, Leonardo took on an exciting new chapter by acquiring the estate he re-named “El Jardín”. Perched at an elite average altitude of 2,000 m.a.s.l. in the steep, water-rich Western Cordillera of Antioquia , the farm enjoys an ideal microclimate for slow cherry maturation. Here, Leonardo processes this Gesha with meticulous care : a 24-to-48-hour whole-cherry fermentation , followed by depulping and a 3-day covered tank fermentation before being thoroughly washed and sun-dried. Driven by a desire to share his knowledge , Leonardo uses El Jardín to elevate the local coffee community, and we are incredibly proud to showcase this beautifully crafted lot.
