Banko Gotiti Washing Station is located in Ethiopia’s celebrated Gedeb region, one of the world’s most respected coffee-producing areas. Hundreds of local smallholder farmers cultivate coffee on small plots at elevations reaching over 2,000 metres above sea level. The combination of rich soils, cool temperatures, and generations of coffee-growing knowledge creates ideal conditions for producing coffees with remarkable clarity and complexity.

After harvesting, ripe cherries are delivered to the washing station where they undergo careful sorting, washing, and drying. This washed process highlights the intrinsic qualities of the coffee, resulting in a cup that is transparent, elegant, and distinctly Ethiopian. What makes Banko special is its versatility. Brewed as filter, it offers a refined tea-like experience with floral aromatics and citrus brightness. As espresso, it develops a buttery sweetness supported by smooth milk chocolate notes.
