Inoi Kianderi

Some coffees instantly transport you to their origin, and Inoi is one of them. This washed Kenyan lot from Kianderi Factory captures everything we love about classic Kenyan coffee: vibrant acidity, remarkable clarity, and layers of juicy fruit. Bright grapefruit and blackcurrant take centre stage, while a distinctive savoury-sweet tomato note provides the unmistakable Kenyan character that coffee lovers know and cherish. Collaboration

Nestled in Kirinyaga County on the slopes of Mount Kenya, Kianderi Factory is operated by the Inoi Farmers’ Cooperative Society. Here, hundreds of smallholder farmers cultivate coffee at elevations between 1650 and 1800 metres above sea level, benefiting from rich volcanic soils and an ideal climate for producing exceptional coffees. The cherries are selectively harvested and processed using Kenya’s traditional washed method. After pulping and fermentation, the coffee is thoroughly washed and dried on raised beds, resulting in the remarkable clarity and structure for which Kenyan coffees are famous.

In the cup, Inoi delivers a textbook Kenyan profile. Juicy blackcurrant and zesty grapefruit dominate the experience, while the signature savoury-sweet tomato note adds depth and complexity. At Keen, we love coffees that tell the story of their origin, and Inoi is a beautiful example of why Kenya continues to produce some of the world’s most recognisable and sought-after coffees.
