Flavour profile

Funky, boozy, fruit flavours are the first thing we noticed when tasting this coffee. The flavour of rum and wine combined with acidic notes of strawberry, black cherry, and star fruit, and thick bodied, sweet caramel fudge.

The story – the farm

The coffee comes from the Sehe washing station and the cherries were picked in the Ntamba colline.

Located in the province of Shibitoke, up in the hills of the Bukinyanana commune, Sehe Washing Station is one of the new washing stations built in 2016 by Salum Ramadhan. Salum is the same producer who brought us our Burundi Akeza from last year.

Because this micro-lot was grown at such high altitudes, it’s sugar content is through the roof, lending it beautifully to a natural process. This year’s lot, is in our opinion, Salum’s best so far.
