This coffee comes to us from Nyeri Hill Farm, a historic estate in Kenya’s Nyeri County, established over a century ago. Perched at 2,000 metres above sea level, the farm spans 344 hectares and is home to nearly 400,000 coffee trees—primarily SL-28, with a mix of Ruiru-11 and Batian for disease resistance and diversity.

Owned by the Archdiocese of Nyeri and founded by the Consolata Fathers in 1904, Nyeri Hill blends heritage with innovation. The farm has introduced drip irrigation, wet milling, water recycling, and even transforms coffee husks into organic fertiliser—reducing waste while enriching the soil.

Their commitment to sustainable, community-focused farming is equally impressive. 90% of the workforce comes from the surrounding area, and the farm supports neighbouring farmers through livestock and dairy partnerships. With in-house nurseries and replanting every six years, they’re building a future as strong as their past.
