In this selection, you’ll find coffees roasted for espresso from Ethiopia, Rwanda and Burundi. From Ethiopia: Wolichu Wachu, with a classic natural Guji profile: fruity flavours, bergamot aroma and a lemonade-like acidity. In contrast: Rwanda, with a delicious hoppy flavour that pairs perfectly with the blueberry note. And finally, a Burundi that brings the sweetness of exotic fruits and a jammy, thick body.
The story – the farm
Wolichu Wachu from the Guij region is super fruity and complex, in combination with the terrain’s high altitude, the great attention given during fermentation, and the bourbon variety you get a super clean coffee.
Mahembe is a washing station, privately owned by Justin Musabyiama. The flavours of this coffee are complex, with bursts of sweet berries, bright citrus, pomegranate, and herbal notes.
The Burundi coffee comes from the Sehe washing station and the cherries were picked in the Ntamba colline. It has flavours of rum and wine combined with acidic notes of strawberry, black cherry, and star fruit, and thick bodied, sweet caramel fudge.
