Espresso Tasting Box – Naturals
We love natural coffees so much, that again we made a Tasting Box to explore all that naturally processed coffees have to offer. Natural coffees tend to have more fruity and fermented flavours, because the bean has more time to interact with the natural sugars. The new Espresso Tasting Box contains TWO espresso, but a total of 1000 grams. We’ve got the feedback that 250 grams of one espresso was to little too get is dialed in. So here you go, 2x 500 grams of these amazing Naturals: Two of the most extravagant espressos we’ve had the pleasure of tasting: Intango from Rwanda & Katana from Congo.

The world of coffee is amazing, don’t you think? Even within the same continent, origin, altitude, varieties or processing, there are a great many things that set coffees apart from each other. We’ve decided to showcase these similarities and/or differences, by offering a duo of great beans that will help you discover all that coffee has to offer.
This Tasting Box is filled with two of the most extravagant espressos we’ve had the pleasure of tasting: Intango from Rwanda & Katana from Congo.
The story – the farm
Intango – When drinking Rwandan showstopper Intango, you’ll permanently reside in the lap of luxury, since this coffee’s intriguing set of flavours and aromas is both extravagant and indulgent. Like a very expensive bonbon. Dark chocolate notes are delightfully followed by the bold, bright-pink aroma of bubblegum and then softened by delicate jasmine notes. Then, you’ll get hit with some sweet, refreshing pineapple and we definitely sniffed out some hints of strawberry during cupping.
Katana – This cup is filled to the brim with mystical, tropical fruit notes. The opaque flavours of dark chocolate and dried dates are as smooth as a black panther’s fur. Katana pounces your taste buds with the surprising tang of tamarind, an acidic flavour note that’s characteristic for the region and that gives this coffee an unprecedented sharp edge. After all these bold flavours and sensations Katana kicks back with the more gentle flavours of blackcurrant and butterscotch.
