Flavour profile

Githembe comes from 3 mills called Thirirka FCS. These mills are used by 1500 small farmers. They specialize in growing SL28, SL34, and Batian varieties.

When we cupped Githembe on the table we fell in love with its classic Kenyan profile and the beautiful flavours of black currants and blueberries.

Look out for the smooth acidity of sweet lime and a creamy body.

The Thiririka FCS has 3 millsmills: Githembe, Kiganjo and Ndundu, each with a specific function. This coffee is sorted and pulped at Githembe, then washed and fermented for 12-14 hours.

The beans are then moved to Kiganjo where they’re dried for 7-14 days (the drying facilities here are better and more secure.)
