Complex • Balanced • Classic

Hopping back on the train from Berlin after finding this gem at a tasting, only one thing came to our minds: We want to know what our country’s greatest aeropress-geeks will pull out of the hat! Gogugu station washes the local goods of about 450 small farmers. It’s known as one of Ethiopia’s highest washing stations. Some of their plants are only five years old, the youngest in Ethiopia. We’re keen to share these delicate flavours coming from this young micro climate.

Gogugu – Nordic Approach – Keen Coffee

This lot consists of input from approximately 450 farmers who deliver to the Gogugu Washing Station. It then undergoes a 24 to 72 ‘wet-fermentation’ process, before being dried for 13 days. Growed at around 2000 MASL this is seen as one of Ethiopia’s highest-elevation growing areas. Not only the highest, also youngest, is what makes these farms so unique. Most plants are only five to ten years old, creating their title of ‘youngest coffee trees from Ethiopia’.

Black tea identifies this coffee most, with the right amount of peachiness and some bergamot coming through. It’s a classic washed, yet complex Ethiopia, and icetea peach was the first things that came to our mind.

We’re excited to use this coffee for the Dutch AeroPress Championship 2023!
