Margarissa Halo comes to us through Origin Land Coffee, a dynamic and transparent exporter established in 2022 by Abenezer Asfaw and Mikyas Alemu. Their expertise in supply chain management and dedication to fostering strong relationships with farmers ensures that every step of this coffee’s journey is handled with care. The coffee is processed at the Halo Beriti Washing Station in Gedeb Woreda, located at 2,150 metres above sea level. Here, approximately 388 local farmers deliver ripe cherries harvested from nearby farms. At the station, cherries undergo a meticulous process: they’re floated to remove defects, carefully washed, soaked for five hours, fermented for 72 hours, and then dried on raised beds for 11 days to reach the ideal moisture content. This methodical approach highlights the distinct cleanliness and clarity of the coffee. Beyond quality, Origin Land Coffee supports the community through transparent trade practices and close collaboration, helping smallholders access fair payment and build lasting livelihoods.
