This coffee celebrates the work of Monserrath Chinchilla, who cultivates her 6.5-hectare farm, Sendas del Bosque, with a strong focus on sustainable practices like intercropping avocado trees and preserving local biodiversity. Once harvested, her cherries are processed at Café de Altura de San Ramón, a state-of-the-art mill known for meticulous quality control and support of small producers.

The lot undergoes a carefully extended fermentation of 18 hours before drying slowly on raised beds for a full month, locking in clarity and complexity. Beyond processing excellence, Café de Altura reinvests in its communities, dedicating 2.5 cents per exported pound to preventative healthcare brigades, reforestation efforts, and family support during medical emergencies.
