Hailing from the Gedeb region, Hambela is a true people’s champ from the birthplace of coffee and we could easily drink this on a daily routine. It has everything you want from an Ethiopian coffee: bright tropical red fruit aromas, a creamy body, hints of stone fruit, a sweet acidity and a pleasant tea-like finish.

Collaboration

The Goro Bedessa Dry Coffee Processing Station, founded by Eyasu Worasa in 2020, is all about showcasing the rich flavours of Guji’s naturally processed coffees. Located in Hambela Wamena, this station works with 760 farmers, growing coffee on their small plots at 2150 masl. Once harvested, ripe cherries are carefully sorted and dried over 15 days, with meticulous hand-turning to ensure consistent moisture and flavor development. During the day, they’re covered to protect from the intense sun, and at night, to shield from excess moisture, ensuring even drying throughout the process.

The station and farmers are located very close to Dimtu, one of our more experimental coffees. If you enjoy the profile of this one and want to experience what a natural coffee from this soil has to offer, this one’s for you!
